2018 seems like a blur, it went by so fast. From the expansion, staff changes, education and trying to handle 11 females there is never a dull moment. Salon ownership is no joke and whoever thinks it looks like a walk in the park is DEAD wrong. I have learnt a TON this year about being a business owner and I am constantly growing to try to be better... 2018 ended with some major changes which you can read about in my next blog post. Im a big dreamer when it comes to Salon Muse and that doesn't work for everyone and thats okay. One thing I have learned this week is check on your stylists.. often. You just never know what is happening behind the scenes.

With that being said we have some changes coming to the salon in 2019.

Last month I got together with a majority of the girls and talked about what their personal goals are and what they would like to see changed. Now I could be like a majority of every boss and tell them NO you have to keep doing every service and you have to work X amount of days. Personally I wouldn't want to go to a professional for a bleachout or a kids cut if they don't like doing them..If they don't enjoy it I can guarantee your outcome isn't 100%. This is exactly why you don't see me doing all over brunettes or fashion colors very often. They simply just don't do it for me and its never been my "thing". Everyone has a niche and your outcome will be better if your stylist is performing their "niche". Mine just happens to be Blondes, lived in hair and extensions.

So with that being said we have some changes happened starting January 1st!

Starting January 1st our pricing will be changing to Package Pricing.

What does this mean?

I think its important to educate clients of how we price and why hair isn't $80.

Traditionally salons would be "a la carte". This means that you would get charged for your highlights, color, haircut, toner, blow dry and curling/flat iron. I don't like this way of pricing because clients would say "well can I just leave with it wet because its cheaper " Or lets skip the haircut this time etc.

We want you to leave with the best hair possible so we have changed the way we do our pricing to packages that include a variety of services.

We price accordingly to the amount of color we mix. On average our balayage clients will use 5-8 bowls of color. YES 8 bowls could be used for one head. We ALWAYS use two different formulas for toning every single time for a seamless blend.. We are putting in the extra effort behind the scenes that as our client you wouldn't know about it but believe me it makes a difference.
